Free Live Book Brief — registering with your name and material

How to register for the free live Book Brief session, and what material to bring so your brief is built from your own words.

Free Live Book Brief — registering with your name and material

Saving a place for the Free Live Book Brief asks two things: what to call you, and what you are bringing.

What to call you

The name you give is the name used on the session, in your emails and on the Brief itself. If your account already carries a name, it is filled in for you — you are never asked to retype something the Studio already holds.

What you are bringing

Under your name there is a box for your own material: a message, a teaching, notes, a rough outline, a talk transcript. You can add it four ways:

  • paste or type it straight in
  • upload a file — TXT, MD, PDF or Word
  • upload a recording — audio or video of a sermon or talk, transcribed for you
  • press the microphone and speak it out

Whatever you add is saved to your place. When the session opens, that material is already waiting in the live box, so the hour is spent building your Brief instead of hunting for something to build from.

Why it comes in advance

The Brief is built from your own words, so the material has to be in your place before the session goes live. Uploading, transcribing and reading take a few minutes and the session is one hour — material that arrives on the day is spent waiting rather than building.

A word count sits under the box. Around 300 words of your own material is enough to build a Brief live on the call. Below that you will see a gentle nudge to bring more with you.

This is encouragement, not a gate. Everyone who saves a place receives the full email sequence and the joining link, whether they added material or not. If you register empty-handed, you can come back to the page at any time before the session and add your material with Save my material — or simply bring it with you on the day.

Bringing a sermon you preached rather than wrote

If your strongest message exists as a recording rather than as notes, paste the YouTube link into Paste sermon link in your session workspace. The Studio reads the video's own captions and adds the spoken words to your material, titled and attached to your place. Where a video carries no captions, it says so plainly rather than inventing a transcript — upload the audio file instead and it is transcribed for you.

Your Message Diagnostic

Once around 120 words of material are saved, press Read my material. Within a minute you get a four-part read on what you are carrying, shown in your session workspace and sent to your inbox:

  1. Your core thesis — the argument underneath the teaching, separated from the illustrations that belong to your own room.
  2. Three pillars already in your teaching — the anchors you keep returning to, each with the evidence from your own material.
  3. The pulpit-to-page gap — where spoken delivery will not survive a reader in another city who has never met you.
  4. What we build live — what is still missing, and why it is built together.

The diagnostic deliberately stops short of the Book Brief. It does not give you a chapter plan, a title, or your reader promise — those are built in the live session, from your material, with you in the room. If what you have saved is too thin to read honestly, it says so instead of guessing.

Add more material later and a Re-read with my new material button appears.
