Your 25 included author copies, and how they're earned

The Book in Hand Accelerator includes 25 printed copies of your finished book. They are printed from the exact version you sign off — never from "the latest file".

What has to be true before they can be ordered

You hold a live Accelerator place on this book, and your payments are up to date.
Your manuscript is finished — judged by the same whole-book check the Studio uses before any export, not just "every chapter has words in it".
Your print files pass the digital check: inside pages prepared, final page count, a cover built to fit that exact page count, and your ISBN on the barcode.
One printed proof of that exact book has been ordered and sent to you.
You've held it and approved it.
Nothing you asked us to correct is still outstanding.
Your final sign-off is recorded and still current.

If your book changes after you approve a proof, we get one more proof to you before anything is printed in quantity. Your first corrected proof is included; further proofs are quoted first.

What we promise, and what we don't

We promise the proof process and that your included order is placed once you've approved your book. We don't promise all 25 copies at your door by day 60 — printing and delivery times sit with the printer and the post, and rushing that is how authors end up with 25 copies of a mistake.

Design and Publish

Design, Publication Setup and Proof are included from the moment you join the Accelerator. They open for use once your manuscript is finished and approved for production. They are never taken away from you.

In Publication Setup you enter your own ISBN, confirm exactly how your title, subtitle and name will be printed, and press "Prepare my inside pages for print" to have your interior laid out as a print file with a settled page count. Your printed cover — back, spine and front as one piece — is built for you automatically once your inside pages are done, using your front cover artwork, your back cover copy and your ISBN barcode. The spine width comes from your real page count.

If you'd rather use your own cover design, you can upload it as a PDF instead. The Studio shows you the exact size it must be. A cover you supply is yours to get right — check it carefully on your printed proof. If your book's length changes afterwards, the spine no longer fits and the cover has to be rebuilt before anything is printed.

Quality notes from the whole-book check (repetition, openings, a day that sits loosely against your own material) are shown to you as things worth a look. They never lock your book. Only a genuine failure holds production.

If a payment is missed

Physical printing pauses. Your book, your writing, your Brief, your Plan and everything you've downloaded stay exactly as they are, and everything reopens as soon as payment goes through.
